Edit* It’s a Flying Boxcar, they’ve just CGI’d on floats and pretended it’s amphibious.
This is from a Grey Goose ad, and I cannot figure out what this thing is. Any guesses? I’m hoping that googling GG 8(6?)16 will help. Also it looks like maybe French colours on the side.

Looks like a Fairchild C-119.

I’ve just found that by googling....I somehow blanked the flying boxcar

It’s a C119 Flying Boxcar. But it is not a seaplane

GG 816 might be a bit of an easter egg. Grey Goose 8/16 or whatever.
To be honest it looks like the Sea Duck from Talespin CGI’d up. Might make sense based on the Goose/Duck thing. But a plane expert (ttymmnn?) might know better.

Yup. I actually spent the night in a Flying Boxcar as a kid at the SAC Museum.

Maybe that’s what threw me off, they’ve got it sitting in the water in the ad, and put floats under the wings

The Sea Duck is based off of the predecessor to this thing so you’re not wrong.

I managed to fully blank the existence of the flying box car. I think the floats really confused me

That’s pretty awesome

It’s a C-119, as a seaplane, registered as a British glider.
So...
That’s a little weird.

Its a half assed approach to a fairchild provider that can somehow float.

Yeah, C-119 never had floats. Ever. I saw that ad the other day and did a double take.

Yeah it is weird cause I don’t see and amphibious modes ever made.

That is quite weird
